You have learnt that a prefix is a set of letters that are added to the beginning
of a word. For example, bicycle, anticlockwise, disadvantage, overcoat, triangle,
cooperation, sub-zero, extracurricular.

bi- two, both bicycle, biannual
tri- three tricolour, tricycle
over- over overlook, overpower
sub- under submarine, subtropical
inter- among, between intervene, internet
auto- self autoimmune, autonomous
co- with companion, corelate
post- after postgraduate, postpone
extra- outside extraordinary, extraterrestrial
trans- across transfer, transport
aqua- water aquatic, aquarium
deca- ten decade, decagon
mini- small miniature
octo- eight octagon, octopus
hexa- six hexagon
hemi- half hemisphere
Sometimes, prefixes can be used to form antonyms. For example, legal—illegal,
mobile—immobile, regular—irregular, fortunate—unfortunate, agree—disagree.
