About the Author
Vyasa is perhaps the greatest sage in the history of India. He is also sometimes called Veda Vyasa (the one who classified the
Vedas). He edited the four Vedas, wrote the eighteen Puranas and composed the epic Mahabharata. Vyasa is considered by Hindus
as Chiranjivi, or immortal, one who is still living and walking the earth for the well-being of his devotees. The festival of Guru
Purnima is dedicated to him. It is also known as Vyasa Purnima, for it is the day believed to be both his birthday and the day he
               divided the Vedas.
