Time to write
A debate is a formal argument where one side speaks in favour of a particular topic while the
other side speaks against it. Speakers carefully research both sides of the topic and come up with
solid evidence to support their chosen side. At the same time, they anticipate problems and
provide solutions.
Participating in debates helps you develop critical thinking and higher-level thinking skills. It
helps you organise your thoughts, research topics and present your arguments in a clear and
convincing manner.
You can organize your thoughts using this organiser.
