persuade, inspire, or inform. The purpose of a speech is:
• to convey information orally to a large gathering of people.
• to pass on a wide range of information to a wide range of audience, orally.
• to express an opinion, share a point of view/experience/observation, etc.
The format of a speech is given below.
• Opening statement (Greeting according to the time of the day)
• Main speech:
1. Statement of problem or main idea
2. Causes of the problem or important aspects of the main idea
3. Suggestions, solutions and the speaker’s point of view
• Closing statement
