               1. A simile is a literary device that compares two different things or ideas using the words ‘like’

or ‘as’ to create a clear and imaginative connection between them. For example, Her smile
was as bright as the sun. Now, find some examples of simile in the poem.

               2. Anaphora is the repetition of a word or words at the beginning of successive phrases,
clauses, or lines to create a sonic effect.

In Joanna Klink’s poem ’Some Feel Rain’, the phrase ‘some feel’ is repeated, which creates a
rhythm and a sense of accumulating emotions and meanings:

Some feel rain. Some feel the beetle startle

in its ghost-part when the bark

slips. Some feel musk. Asleep against

each other in the whiskey dark, scarcely there.
Now, look up for some examples of anaphora in the poem.

               3. Alliteration is the repetition of initial consonant sounds of nearby words in a phrase, often

                   used as a literary device.
                   For example,

                   ‘Torn turned and tattered

                   Bowed burned and battered’

Now, read the poem and find some examples of alliteration.
