The pronouns I, we, he, she, it, they, her, him, them, us, me and you are called
personal pronouns. They are used instead of the names of people, animals or things.
Personal pronouns are of three kinds—first person, second person and third person.
Study the table to understand the three kinds of personal pronouns.

first person refers to the speaker or the group I, me, we, us
that includes the speaker
second person the speaker’s audience or the you
person being spoken to
third person the person spoken about he, she, him, her,
it, they, them
Personal pronouns are further classified on the basis of number, gender and their
relationship with the other words in a sentence, for instance whether they are being used
as the subject or the object in a sentence.
