21 Interjections

                       What do these words express?

These words are used to express our feelings. We use them when we are happy or sad,
excited or frightened, surprised or angry.

These small words and short sentences that express strong emotions are called
                         interjections.

We generally use an exclamation mark (!) after an interjection. For example,

                  y Ouch! You’re hurting me.

                  y Watch out! There’s a car behind you. !!

                  y Oh! I don’t believe it.

y Bravo! You played so well.

y Wow! We won the match.

                  y Yuck! That tastes disgusting.

y Hurrah! We are off on a class picnic.

y Hey! Don’t let the dog on the bed.
