                  Aesops Fables is a collection of fables by aesop fables are stories which have animal

                  characters engaged in human-like situations each fable has a moral it is believed that
                  aesop was a greek slave and storyteller originally the fables were told from person to
                  person for entertainment purposes and also for conveying moral lessons the stories
                  were collected about three hundred years after the death of aesop lets read two of his
                  famous fables

                 1.    the ants were drying grain that they collected in the summer a grasshopper was
                       passing by he was thin by starvation he begged the ants for a little food the ants
                       asked why did you not store up food during the summer


                        he said i did not have much time i passed the days in singing

                        the ants said angrily you were foolish enough to sing all the summer now you
                       must sleep hungry in winter

                 2.    the mice held a meeting one day they wanted to come up with a solution to
                       outwit the cat they discussed many ideas but they came up with no solution
                       at last a young mouse got up and said i have a proposal to make you will all
                       agree that the cat uses stealth to catch us we are never able to know when she
                       approaches us so if we think of a way which will signal her approach we can
                       easily escape from her so i propose that we should tie a small bell by a ribbon

                       round the neck of the cat so whenever she is in the neighbourhood we would
                       always know

                        thats a wonderful idea said everyone and everyone cheered and rejoiced at that
                       moment an old mouse got up and said that is all very well but who will bell the
                       cat

                        the rejoiced stopped at one and the mice looked at one another and nobody spoke
                       then the old mouse said it is easy to propose a remedy for an impossible situation
