Exception
♦ An is used before a silent h. For example,
• He is an honest man.
• We waited for an hour.
♦ An is used before a word that begins with a consonant but has a vowel sound.
For example,
• He works in an MNC.
• She is an MLA.
♦ A is used before a word that begins with a vowel but has a consonant sound.
For example,
• He is a European.
• The serial has a universal appeal.
