Words that describe nouns are called adjectives.

Most adjectives occur before a noun and after a verb. For example,
             • He is an old man. (before the noun)

             • My grandfather is old. (after the verb)
             • He is an intelligent man. (before the noun)
             • He is intelligent. (after the verb)

When adjectives are used before a noun, they are called attributive adjectives.

When adjectives are used after a verb, they are called predicative adjectives.
