Future Continuous Tense
Uses
We use the future continuous tense to
1. talk about actions that will be in progress at a certain time in the future.
For example,
y This time next week, we will be relaxing in Haridwar.
y By Diwali, I will be speaking French fluently.
2. talk about an action that has been planned. For example,
y They will be holidaying in France next month.
y I will be meeting him on Monday.
3. talk about an action that will be in progress at a certain time in the future, as part
of a routine or an arrangement (we don’t use the present continuous for this).
For example,
y When you return, we will be sleeping.
y We will be posting our letters on Sunday.
4. to politely ask somebody about their future plans to see if we may do something
for them or if they can do something for us. For example,
y Are you going towards South Delhi? Can you drop me off at the airport?
y Will you be driving to Shankar Market this evening? Could you pick up my
dress from the tailor?
