Time to answer

          Answer these questions.

          1. Arrange these actions in the order in which the child in the poem does them.

Take a bath. Put on shoes.

                            Get dressed. Grab the coat.

                            Comb the hair. Gobble breakfast.

Brush the teeth. Pick the school bag.

          2. Why does the poet use these words: ‘No time to lose’, ‘No time to waste’, ‘Hurry,

scurry, hurry, scurry’, and ‘Quickly! Quickly!’

to show that the child is in a rush to go to school

to show that the child is in a rush to go out to play

to show that the parents are in a rush to send the child to school

to show that the child is not interested in going to school

          3. Which of these activities tell you that the child is in a rush?

He gets dressed quickly. He gobbles his breakfast.
He grabs his coat. He goes into the bathroom.

                      He rushes down the stairs.

He looks at the mirror and combs his hair.

He forgets to brush his teeth before breakfast.

          4. How does the child wash away his sleepiness?

          5. Why do you think the child rushes back to the bathroom? Do you think he is

forgetful because he is in a hurry? life skill critical thinking
