Before you read the story.

Dorothy lives with her Uncle Henry and Aunt Em in Kansas in the USA. One day,
a dangerous cyclone sweeps across the land and Dorothy and her dog Toto are
transported by the cyclone to the magical Land of Oz. There Dorothy meets the

Good Witch who tells her the only way she can return home is to go to the Emerald
City and ask the great and powerful Wizard of Oz to help her. As Dorothy embarks

on her journey, she makes new friends on the way. She first befriends the Scarecrow.
Now, read the story to find out whom she meets next.

When Dorothy woke up, the Scarecrow was waiting by the door. Toto was

running around and barking, and there was sunlight shining through the trees.

‘We must go and search for water,’ she said to him. ‘To
wash my face clean after the dust of the road, and to

drink, so the dry bread will not stick in my throat.’ Just a Minute!
