          A story map is a graphic organiser that helps you understand the different elements of a story.
          The purpose of a story map is to help you

          •  learn the different elements of a story

          •  get a deeper understanding of how stories are written and how it can be applied to
               other texts

          •  capture and organise information efficiently


          This story map introduces the key elements found in a story.
          •  the characters of the story


          •  the setting (the place where the story takes place)

          •  plot or the main components—the beginning, the middle and the end


          Construct a story map for ‘Pret in the House’ outlining the key elements of the story.
