• Personal pronouns: They refer to people, animals, places or things, without naming them.
I, we, her, them, us, it and she are personal pronouns. For example,

• Demonstrative pronouns: They help us to point at something or someone. For example,
1. This is the Orion’s Belt. 2. That is a black hole.
3. These are your mugs. 4. Those are students of this college.
• Possessive pronouns: They show ownership to someone or something. For example,
1. This hat is mine. That one is yours. 2. This spaceship is hers. This one is his.
• Interrogative pronouns: They are used to ask questions. For example,
1. What is your problem? 2. Who can help you?
3. Which is your schoolbag? 4. Whom can you help?
• Emphatic pronouns: They are used to emphasise the noun in the sentence. For example,
1. I baked the muffins myself. / I myself baked the muffins.
2. They themselves admitted their mistake.
