Time to learn new words
Look at the following phrases that we came across in the story.
• Her brother Reyhaan tags along.
• The three friends soar off from Earth on a hot summer night.
• The three of them rush out of the ship into Maya and Reyhaan’s backyard.
The phrases in red begin with a verb and has a preposition with it. When taken together, the
meanings of the phrases are quite different from the literal meaning of the words they are made
of. Such phrases are known as phrasal verbs.
Select the appropriate phrasal verb to complete the sentences.
