Preface
Lavender is a three-book course that focusses on providing stimulating learning methods to
introduce the English language. The series focusses on the four basic skills and sub-skills of
listening, speaking, reading and writing and takes into account the challenges and needs of young
learners of the language.
The series is based on the understanding that learning to communicate with clarity and precision,
orally, in writing, and through a variety of media, helps children understand the world around
them.
The course encourages the use of language to express their feelings, ideas and opinions through a
wide variety of age-appropriate and graded tasks designed for individual, pair and group activities in
different formal and informal situations.
Lavender is completely aligned to the recommendations of the National Curriculum Framework
for School Education 2023.
