                 The highlighted words in these sentences are called prepositions.

                 A preposition is a word that shows the position of things and people in relation to
                 someone, something or some place. They indicate a relationship between a noun or a
                 pronoun and some other word in the rest of the sentence. They usually describe the

                 time when something happens.
                 Some common prepositions are—in, on, of, across, off, through, before, behind,

                 near, over, beside, inside, outside, with, to, into, under, except, between, till,
                 until.



             Read how Sukhram led the way up the mountain. Prepositions have been omitted
             from the passage. Rewrite the passage with the omitted words. Underline your
             answer.



             Blind Sukhram Lodhi led Tantia Tope the hill with remarkable skill. His blindness,
             Sukhram had an extraordinary sense direction and familiarity the terrain. As they

             moved the dense forest, he guided Tantia Tope confidence, using his knowledge

             every rock and tree. Sukhram’s keen senses picked up subtle sounds and changes the

             environment, ensuring they avoided any hidden dangers. Each step, he provided precise
             instructions, ensuring their safe passage. The steep, winding paths, Sukhram’s leadership

             and unwavering determination shone, making the journey possible and showcasing his

             exceptional capabilities his blindness. By the time they reached the peak, both men were

             exhausted but triumphant. Sukhram’s guidance had not only ensured their safety but also
             strengthened the trust the two. For Sukhram, the moment was one of triumph not just

             the mountain, but his blindness as well.
