Tense
Read the sentences that tell us something about these three pictures.
1. I shall be going to bed by 10 o’clock.
2. Mary will be taking her brother to the doctor tomorrow.
3. We shall be flying to Singapore next week.
The verbs—shall be going, will be taking, shall be flying—are in the future
continuous tense.
The future continuous tense is used when we want to talk about an action that will be
going on (or continuing) at some point of time in the future.
The structure of the future continuous tense is—will be/shall be + ing form of the verb.
For example, will be leaving, shall be waiting, will be playing, will be studying, shall
be performing, shall be eating, shall be travelling.
A. Use the future continuous tense of the verbs given in brackets to complete these
sentences.
1. We on a trip to Kerala in December. (go)
2. My father from Jaipur tomorrow. (arrive)
3. Miss Pradhan us to the museum tomorrow. (take)
