Position of Adverbs
Let us now learn about the position that adverbs take in a sentence.
1. Adverbs of manner are generally used after the verb or after the object, if the verb
takes the object. For example,
y He works happily.
y She ate the food quickly.
2. Adverbs of place and adverbs of time are also placed after the verb or after the
object, if the verb takes the object. For example,
y They are waiting there.
y They drop litter everywhere.
