13 Diary Writing

A diary entry is one of the most personal categories of writing. In a diary, a person
can record his/her experience, emotions, thoughts or feelings that he/she considers
worth writing on a daily basis. Diaries are organised chronologically by date, so let us
study the format of a diary entry.

Dear Diary opening

Today, our school organised a visit to an orphanage in our town. We had
collected lots of clothes, toys and books for them and when the children
received those gifts, they were glad. We also had packed lunch for them and
they were extremely thankful for our visit and gifts. body

I felt truly contented and happy in giving gifts to the young children. I hope
to continue the good deed every year.
