An article is a piece of writing that is usually intended for publishing in a newspaper,
magazine or journal and to reach a wide audience. So, it is important to include
amusing stories, reported speech and descriptions to attract and retain the readers’
attention. An article should be written in an interesting and entertaining manner and
give opinions and thoughts, as well as facts.
             An article can
                 • describe an experience, an event, a person or a place
                 • present an opinion
                 • provide information
                 • offer suggestions
                 • offer advice
Important points to consider before writing an article:
                 • Select a topic.
                 • Decide on the aim of the topic.
                 • Decide on the intended readers because the language and level of formality will
                 • depend on the target group.
                 • Read all available books, articles on the topic and include statistics, quotes
by well-known people, definitions, anecdotes, references to other media (film,
                    television, radio).
                 • Write a draft, then, read it, revise, rewrite, edit to tighten your article, make it
                    specific, clear and interesting.
                 • Give an eye-catching title that attracts the readers’ attention and reflects the
                    theme of the article.
             Here’s a sample article.
