In the sunshine, through the rain.
With a bossing giant’s style,
Crossing mile on mile on mile
Over hill and over plain,
Over and over,

Fretting, fuming,
Fire-consuming,
Rattling goes the Railway Train!
Jook, jook, jook, jook! ,
Jook, jook, jook, jook!...
Little wayside stations cry:
Look! The train is passing by!
steaming: giving off steam (the poet is
referring to a steam engine)
fretting: (here) wearing away because Look, look, look, look,
of constantly moving
fuming: letting out lot of smoke Look, look, look, look!...
fire-consuming: eating up or using fire
(steam engines used burning coals to
heat water to produce steam that gives Wheel upon wheel!
