‘Yes, Naani, I will write,’ Sanjeev promised, and she had touched his hair fondly, then
climbed slowly into the car and waved one last time before it moved off.

Sanjeev stood up decisively, the pain and guilt lessening as he made a resolution. ‘We will
make you a garden here, Naani,’ he said aloud, ‘and when I get back home, I won’t neglect
the place you and I enjoyed so much together.’
