                 words are non-finite verbs.

A non-finite verb does not show any tense, person or number. There are three types

                 In the above sentences –

infinitives – to travel; to decode

participles – captivating, trying (present participle); haunted, deserted, submerged
                 (past participle)

                 gerund – reading; playing
