P. 48

The main verb shows the action in a sentence. For example,

y They will eat dinner at 9 o’clock.

y Grandma is telling a story.

y Suyash was swimming in the pool.

The helping verb comes before the main verb and shows the time
              of the action.

y They will eat dinner at 9 o’clock. (simple future tense)

y Grandma is telling a story. (present continuous tense)

y Suyash was swimming in the pool. (past continuous tense)
