The simple future tense is used to talk about actions that will happen in the future.
For example,
• I will show you something amazing.
• I will search all the things for you.
The present continuous tense is used to talk about actions that are happening at the
moment of speaking. For example,
• Lajjo is searching for her doll.
• We are running out of drinking water.
The past continuous tense is used to talk about actions that were happening at some
specific time in the past. For example,
• Lajjo was searching for her doll in the evening.
• At midnight, everyone was sleeping peacefully.
Now, complete this paragraph using the simple or continuous forms of the
verbs given in brackets in the correct tense.
One day, I (walk) in the forest when I (see) a
very strange sight. A lion and a fox (talk) to each other.
They (laugh) at some joke. I (find) it quite
strange indeed! Just then, the lion (notice) me. He
(sit) up and (look) at me. ‘Who
(be) you, sir? And what you
(do) in this forest?’
I (reply), ‘Oh hello! I’m Rachit. I (play) with
my friends just outside the forest when I (see) a path through
the trees. So, I just (start) walking along the path and finally
(reach) here.’
‘Don’t you know that this (to be) a magic forest?’
