              Change these sentences into the indirect speech.

              1.  He said, ‘I like this house.’

              5.  Rajesh said, ‘I don’t like soft drinks because they are bad for health.’

              6.  The doctor said, ‘I can’t attend to this patient because this is a case of an accident and I need
                   to call the police.’
              7.  Divya said, ‘Thank you, Papa, for the books that you gave me on my birthday.’

              8.  The old man said, ‘It is hunger that makes our food seem tasty, whether we are young or old,

                   rich or poor.’

              You have learnt that a simile is a figure of speech that compares two different things using the

              word like or as. For example,
              •  The carriage was dragged like a temple chariot during a festival.

              •  Opening the box, he lifted the bow effortlessly, as if it were a garland of flowers.

              •  The mighty bow snapped with a crash like a clap of thunder.
