You have also learnt that a metaphor is a figure of speech that compares two different things
without using the word like or as. For example,

              • The mighty bow was a rock. Nobody could move it.

For each comparison using metaphor, write a comparison using a simile.

              1. The basketball player is an ogre.

              2. The soldier is a lion.

              3. She is very bright.
              4. Dhruv is an angel.

              5. He was an angry beast.

              6. She’s a busy bee.

                                                             Study skills

Let us learn about three punctuation marks—the em dash, the en dash and the hyphen.
              • Dasratha had four sons—Rama, Laxmana, Bharata and Satrughna.

              • The wedding had 500−600 guests.

              • Rama stepped out to the iron bow-case.

The em dash (—) is similar to commas, colons and parentheses. The em dash is used to show a
              break in the sentence.

The en dash (−) is wider than a hyphen but narrower than the em dash. The en dash is used to
show a span or range of numbers, dates or time.

The hyphen (-) is used to form compound nouns or compound adjectives, with compound
              numbers and some prefixes.

Use punctuation marks like full stop, question mark, exclamation mark, comma,
apostrophe, em dash, en dash and hyphen and rewrite these sentences. Use capital
              letters, wherever required.
